Government of Gujarat awarded on 1st December 2011, the World AIDS Day.

Women Deliver 2010 Award

Deepak Foundation received a cash award of $1000 from White Ribbon Alliance, Global Secretariat and UNFPA for submitting ‘Stories of Mothers Saved’ debuted at the Women Deliver 2010 conference at Washington, DC.

Deepak Foundation was adjudged as the Runners Up by EdelGive Social Innovation Honours for its achievement under the category ‘Innovating to empower women’ for empowering tribal women to improve health status of their community in the year2010.

"First Citizen" Contest 2010 – American Center, Mumbai

The “First Citizen” Contest was initiated in honor of US President Barak Obama’s visit to India by the American Center, Mumbai. Deepak Foundation’s Ms. Smita Maniar and Ms. Neelam Acharya won the second prize for their outstanding contribution to capacity building of under-privileged tribal women and promoting safe motherhood and child survival practice in Vadodara.

Deepak Foundation is one of the twenty- one civil society organizations from across South Asia to win grant funded by South Asia Region Development Marketplace. It was sponsored by UNICEF, World Food Programme, PepsiCo, the Micronutrient Initiative, GTZ (Germany) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). Titled “Family and Community Approaches to Improve Infant and Young Child Nutrition”, the competition was designed to identify some of the most innovative ideas to improve nutrition, focusing especially on children under two years of age and pregnant women. It drew nearly 1000 applications from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, and through a vigorous assessment process by international development experts, the applicants were narrowed down to 60 finalists who showcased their ideas in a two day seminar held at Dhaka, Bangladesh on 5th and 6th August, 2009.
