Deepak Foundation, a registered non-governmental organization, was set up by Deepak Group of Companies (Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation and Deepak Nitrite Limited) in the early eighties, as part of its corporate social responsibility. The organization first started its activities with a focus on maternal and child care to serve a population of around 30,000 in the Nandesari industrial area of Vadodara district in Gujarat. Today, in addition to covering the industrial areas, the Foundation is providing preventive, curative and developmental services to more than seven lakh tribal populations
scattered in 700 villages in four blocks of Vadodara district (Chhota Udepur, Kawant, Pavi Jetpur and Naswadi) and in two blocks of Surendranagar district (Dhrangadhra and Halvad). This year, the Foundation expanded its services in four more rural blocks of Vadodara namely Dabhoi, Waghodia, Savli and Sankheda. |
