Empowering Women

The Foundation believes that empowerment of women can be achieved through the following critical actions:

  • Providing sustainable livelihood
  • Affirming the access to and control over material, financial and intellectual resources
  • Ensuring that the economic contribution of the women to the family is significant so that wsomen can increase their “bargaining power” – their ability to express their individual preferences within the family
  • Enhancing self-confidence and self-esteem which leads to a significant change in the attitudes of the community
  • Establishing spaces and support systems to sustain the process of their empowerment
