“Abhivruddhi” an initiative of Deepak Foundation, was launched to fulfil the Government of India’s vision of implementing a scheme for establishing 10,000 Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs) across the country. As a Community-Based Beneficiary Organization (CBBO), the project aims to support 25 FPOs in nine districts across three states; Gujarat, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The vision is to ensure effective capacity building to FPOs to develop agriculture entrepreneurship skills so that they can become self-sustaining beyond government support. Out of these 25 FPO, 16 FPOs are registered under the Farmers Producer Company Act (2013) and 9 FPOs are registered under the Cooperative Act (1962).
