Deepak Foundation’s progressive journey to emphasize on multi-disciplinary education and to deliver scientific and practical-based learning through Project “Young Scientist” embarked scientific and technological advancements in government primary school children through STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Project “Young Scientist” is currently executing in Nandesari, Vadodara district, Gujarat and Roha, Raigad district, Maharashtra with STEM learning through subject experts.
The aspirational goal of this initiative is to equip students with 21st century skills, like problem solving, analytical & critical thinking and adapt to evolving technology, fostering teamwork and collaboration, retention of knowledge through experimentation and prepares students for future needs. Through such diverse skill-set approach and experiential learning, STEM intervention is empowering young learners of unexplored communities that will create an emerging STEM workforce with their innovative minds and creative potential to thrive in tech-centric society.
The project has collaborative support of Vikram A. Sarabhai Community Science Centre, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Kutuhal Science Centre, Pune, Maharashtra for procurement of STEM Teaching Learning Materials. The Rotary Club of Roha also came forward and provided support for the STEM exhibition in Roha and encouraged children to engage in STEM learning.
STEM team also capacitated through support of various organization through exposure visits and collaborated with Vikram A. Sarabhai Science Centre, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Agastya International Foundation’s STEM Project workshop at Vanadara Primary School, Vadodara, Gujarat, J.B. Sawant School’s STEM learning Lab, Mangaon Maharashtra, Storyweaver by Pratham Books, Pune, Maharashtra and DOW STEM Education Centre by Agastya Foundation, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra etc.
Deepak Foundation, through the STEM project, creates various opportunities for their beneficiaries to showcase their work and dedication at various STEM related exhibitions in their schools and communities. These events encourage students to participate, present their talents, and gain confidence for the future.
The STEM project nurtures student’s creativity, imagination, and competitive spirit, leading to participation of children at various district and school level competitions where children showcase their artistic talent, knowledge, and awareness of space science through beautiful and vibrant posters.
