Deepak Foundation’s initiated educational journey in communities from Anganwadi Centres only and has been supporting and supervising activities of Anganwadi Centres since 1996 in collaboration with state ICDS departments, CSR partners, and development agencies, ensuring compliance with government norms and quality standards. Started from 40 Anganwadi centres in 1996 at Nandesari, Vadodara, the organization is overlooking 67 Anganwadi Centres in Nandesari (rural) block of Vadodara. Continuing the journey, the program was also initiated in Dabhoi block of Vadodara with 35 Anganwadi centres with support of Rotary Club of Vadodara and in 2025 added 20 more Anganwadi centres making 55 total centres for supporting ICDS services.
Over the years, the organization has successfully executed multiple assignments at both the project sites that involved refurbishment of Anganwadi centres, application of child learning concepts, procurement and installation of child-friendly materials, ECCE interventions through print rich learning concept to impact cognitive, language literacy, personal and social learning outcomes in children including school readiness, medical health check-ups, eye examination, medical treatment for developmental delayed children, uniform distribution and capacity building of Anganwadi Workers.
The Pre-school Education project in Nandesari is also establishing Digital (Model) Anganwadi Centres in alignment with the NEP- 2020, featuring high-quality infrastructure, interactive learning walls, child-friendly and engaging educational spaces. These Model Anganwadi Centres are also equipped with educational materials, furniture, digital learning devices to improve regular attendance of children to impact school readiness index positively. 32 such model Anganwadi centres have been established so far in Nandesari block of Vadodara.
