Diamond in the Farm

Project Summary

Solanki Sumitraben Rajubhai, a progressive farmer from Dhantej village in Vadodara district, has successfully implemented mixed cropping scheme on her 1-hectarefarm. Combining cotton, pigeon pea, and marigold, this organic approach enhances soil fertility, maximizes natural energy use, and boosts production. Supported by the Deepak Foundation with saplings and biofertilizers like Neem Sattva, Azotobacter, and PSB, Sumitra Ben has reaped significant benefits. With 240 kg of cotton yielding a profit of 16,800/- and additional earnings from marigold sales, her efforts exemplify the potential of mixed cropping to increase farmer income while improving soil quality. This initiative serves as an inspiring model for sustainable agriculture.
