Demographic Surveillance Studies(DSS)

Demographic Surveillance Studies(DSS)

DSS focuses on gathering comprehensive information on socio-economic and demographic characteristics, agricultural and livestock practices, utilisation of government schemes, overall health status, and treatment-seeking behaviour. These surveys are carried out as cross-sectional assessments, allowing for regular tracking of community conditions. Over successive rounds, a consistent group of households has been retained to form a longitudinal panel, offering richer insights into evolving trends and changes within the community. The annual findings offer valuable understanding of population dynamics, program reach, and community health, helping the Foundation design and refine evidence-based interventions.
