Holistic Rural Initiative for Development Action & Yield (HRIDAY), Tilakwada, Narmada district, Gujarat

Narmada district is one of the high-priority districts of Gujarat, with nearly 85% tribal population as per the 2011 Census. The district also features in the Prime Minister’s Aspirational District Programme, which is a policy priority of the Government of India that aims to transform the select most backward districts on 49 socio-development indicators. The district has hilly terrain and a vastly spread demography, with many pockets situated in isolated areas, making the reach of services difficult. The project adopts a holistic approach to improve the livelihood and well-being of the community.
