HRIDAY – Holistic Rural Initiative for Development Action & Yield Tilakwada (Narmada District, Gujarat)

Located in a predominantly tribal , geographically challenging district, HRIDAY adopts a holistic, multi- sectoral approach to improving livelihoods and well-being. The region features in the Prime Minister’s Aspirational District Programme, reflecting its developmental priority. The project strengthens access to services, enhances community resilience, and promotes sustainable growth.

  • 14 water-harvesting structures were created, enabling a storage capacity of 80 million liters and supporting irrigation across 100 acres of land.
  • 250 acres were brought under mixed-cropping practices by 250 farmers, and 130 acres were brought under crop diversification practices by 130 farmers.
  • 150 acres were brought under drip-irrigation systems by 100 farmers, ensuring more efficient and sustainable water use.
  • 40 women from SHGs and 100 farmers produced vermicompost and vermiwash.
  • 210 households adopted kitchen gardens to improve household nutrition.
  • 55 households installed biogas units, saving ₹500 to ₹1,000 per month in LPG and firewood expenses and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
