The palliative care is defined by WHO as “an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.”
Deepak Foundation is running a 25 bedded palliative care hospice across two areas of Vadodara since 2021 April, with a total number of patients of 558 as on March 2023 with the support of Oncology department of Sir Sayajirao General Hospital, Vadodara as a CSR initiative of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Deepak Nitrites Limited.
