Surabhi (Integrated Animal Health Care Center – Roha)

The Integrated Animal Healthcare Centre (IAHCC) in Roha established in August 2023.Offers doorstep veterinary care, artificial insemination services, farmer training, and nutrition support. Despite initial challenges, the initiative has significantly improved milk yield and cattle productivity among small dairy farmers.

  • The program achieved high outreach with 27 awareness sessions (225%) and animal health activities at 200% achievement. Service utilization remained strong with 181 AIs (181%) and 1,179 OPD consultations (118%). Pregnancy rates reached 51% with sex-sorted semen and 37% with conventional, with favourable calf born ratios. Innovations in feed and fodder included Azolla promotion with 40 farmers, successful maize fodder demos scaled to 37 farmers, and distribution of 223 subsidized feed bags. Hydroponics was also piloted with two farmers,showing promise for year-round fodder production.
